TORSEMIDE 10 MG + SPIRONOLACTONE 50 MG
Introduction : Spironolactone 50mg is a potassium-sparing diuretic (water pill). It prevents your body from absorbing too much salt and keeps your potassium levels from getting too low. This medicine is also used to treat or prevent hypokalemia (low potassium levels in the blood).
Torsemide 10mg is used to help treat fluid retention (edema) and swelling that is caused by congestive heart failure, liver disease, kidney disease. It belongs to the group of medicines called loop diuretics (water pills). This medicine works by acting on the kidneys to increase the flow of urine.
Indication : The combination of Torsemide 10mg and Spironolactone 50mg tablet is often prescribed to manage edema associated with conditions such as congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and kidney disease.
This combination may also be used to treat hypertension in individuals who are not adequately controlled on other antihypertensive medications.
Administration : Dosage: The dosage of Torsemide 10 mg + Spironolactone 50 mg may vary depending on the individuals medical condition and response to treatment. It is typically taken orally once daily, with or without food.
Monitoring: Regular monitoring of blood pressure, electrolyte levels (especially potassium), and kidney function is essential while taking this combination medication.

This medicine may also cause electrolyte imbalances (including low sodium, magnesium, and calcium in the blood, hypochloremic alkalosis) and an increase in your uric acid and blood sugar levels.

Mechanism of Action : Diuretics lower blood pressure initially by reducing plasma and extracellular fluid volume; cardiac output also decreases. Eventually, cardiac output returns to normal with an accompanying decrease in peripheral resistance.
