LOSARTAN 50 MG + AMLODIPINE 5 MG

Introduction :

Losartan 50 Mg & Amlodipine 5 Mg combination tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension in adults who require combination therapy to achieve blood pressure control. Losartan works by blocking a substance in the body that causes the blood vessels to tighten. As a result,Losartan relaxes the blood vessels. This lowers blood pressure and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart. Amlodipine is a type of medicine known as a calcium channel blocker (CCB). It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and a type of chest pain called angina.

Losartan 50 Mg + Amlodipine 5 Mg tablet is indicated for: Treatment of Hypertension: The combination medication is used to lower blood pressure in individuals with hypertension (high blood pressure). Mechanism of Action :

Losartan is an orally active, nonpeptide angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), selective for the AT1 receptor. It blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor subtype in many tissues (eg, vascular smooth muscle, adrenal gland). It has no agonist activity of AT1 and its affinity for the AT1 receptor is approximately 1000 times greater than for the AT2 receptor Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that works by relaxing the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing blood pressure.
