TRANS-RESVERATROL 500 CAP

Introduction :

Resveratrol is a naturally occurring polyphenolic compound found in various plants, most notably in the skin of red grapes, blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, and peanuts. It exists as two isomers, namely, cis- and trans-resveratrol. The trans-resveratrol is the more biologically active isomer. Trans-resveratrol is renowned for its potential health benefits, particularly its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and cardioprotective properties.

Indication :

1. Cardiovascular Health: Studies suggest that Transresveratrol can improve cardiovascular health by reducing blood pressure, improving lipid profiles, and enhancing vascular function. 2. Cancer Prevention: Preclinical studies indicate that Transresveratrol can inhibit the growth of various cancer cells, though more clinical trials are needed to confirm these effects in humans. 3. Neurodegenerative Diseases: Transresveratrol has shown promise in animal models of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimers and Parkinsons disease. 4. Diabetes: It may improve insulin sensitivity and glucose control in people with diabetes or metabolic syndrome. 5. Anti-Aging: Transresveratrol is often known as an anti-aging supplement( better we can call healthy aging) due to its potential to mimic the effects of calorie restriction and activate sirtuins, which are involved in longevity.

Mechanism of Action :

1. Antioxidant Activity: Resveratrol is known to scavenge free radicals and enhance the activity of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase. 2. Anti-inflammatory Effects: It inhibits the activity of enzymes like cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase, reducing the production of pro-inflammatory mediators. 3. Cardioprotective Properties: Resveratrol is believed to improve endothelial function, reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation, and inhibit platelet aggregation. 4. Cancer Prevention: It may induce apoptosis in cancer cells, inhibit angiogenesis, and interfere with cancer cell proliferation. 5. Neuroprotection: Resveratrol has shown potential in protecting neurons from damage, possibly benefiting conditions like Alzheimers disease. 6. Anti-diabetic Effects: It can enhance insulin sensitivity and improve glucose metabolism.

Side Effects :

1. Gastrointestinal Issues: Some individuals may experience nausea, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain. 2. Drug Interactions: Transresveratrol can interact with anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs, potentially increasing the risk of bleeding. 3. Allergic Reactions: Rarely, allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching may occur.

Contraindications :

1. Allergy to Resveratrol: Individuals with known hypersensitivity to resveratrol or any of its components should avoid its use. 2. Bleeding Disorders: Due to its antiplatelet effects, Transresveratrol should not be used in individuals with bleeding disorders or those taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications. 3. Hormone-Sensitive Conditions: Those with hormone-sensitive conditions such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids should consult a healthcare provider before using resveratrol.

Safety Advice / Warnings :

1. Pregnancy: There is limited data on the safety of resveratrol during pregnancy. Due to its potential estrogenic activity and lack of comprehensive studies, it is generally advised to avoid Transresveratrol supplementation during pregnancy unless specifically recommended by a healthcare provider. 2. Lactation: Similarly, the safety of resveratrol during breastfeeding has not been well studied. It is advisable to avoid Transresveratrol supplementation during lactation unless recommended by a healthcare provider. 3. Alcohol Consumption: While resveratrol is present in red wine, the health benefits associated with Transresveratrol should not encourage excessive alcohol consumption. Excessive alcohol intake can negate the benefits and pose significant health risks. Supplements may be a safer alternative to achieve the potential benefits of resveratrol without the risks associated with alcohol. 4. Medication Interactions: Resveratrol can interact with various medications, including anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), antiplatelet drugs (e.g., aspirin), and non- steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It can potentially enhance the effects of these medications and increase the risk of bleeding. 5. Surgery: Due to its antiplatelet effects, Transresveratrol should be discontinued at least two weeks prior to any surgical procedure to reduce the risk of excessive bleeding. For more detailed guidance, always consult a healthcare provider or a registered dietician
