This medicine is commonly used to treat superficial fungal infections affecting the skin.Miconazole nitrate may be prescribed for: Fungal infections in skin folds

Clean the affected area before applying the cream. Apply a thin layer to the affected skin as directed by the physician. The treated area may be covered with a sterile dressing if needed. Wash hands before and after application.

Store in a cool, dry place below 25–30°C. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. Continue treatment for the recommended duration even if symptoms improve. Maintain proper hygiene and keep the affected area clean and dry.

Miconazole inhibits fungal cytochrome P450–dependent lanosterol 14-α-demethylase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes. This results in increased membrane permeability, leakage of intracellular components, and inhibition of fungal growth.
