TENELIGLIPTIN 20 MG + METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE 1000 MG ER

Introduction :

TENELIGLIPTIN 20 MG + METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE 1000 MG Extended Release combination tablets are indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate glycemic control. Teneligliptin 20mg tablet reduces blood sugar levels by increasing the amount of insulin made and released from pancreas, and also decreases the amount sugar made by liver. Metformin works by decreasing the production of glucose in the liver, reducing intestinal glucose absorption, and increasing glucose uptake and utilization in peripheral tissues.

Indication :

Teneligliptin 20mg + Metformin 1000mg ER (extended release) combination is prescribed for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It helps control blood sugar levels by increasing insulin release from the pancreas and reducing glucose production by the liver, ultimately improving glycemic control. Teneligliptin 20mg + Metformin 1000mg ER tablets are used as an adjunct to diet and exercise when these measures alone are insufficient to control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The combination therapy provides additional glycemic control beyond what can be achieved with lifestyle modifications alone.

Administration :

Typically, one tablet is taken orally with meals once or twice daily, as prescribed by the healthcare provider. Swallow the extended release tablet whole. Do not break, crush, or chew it. If you are taking the extended-release tablets, part of the tablet may pass into your stool after your body has absorbed the medicine. This is normal and nothing to worry about. Do not crush, chew, or divide extended-release tablet

Mechanism of Action :

Teneligliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It works by inhibiting the action of the enzyme DPP-4, which leads to increased levels of incretin hormones (such as GLP-1 and GIP). These incretins increase insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and decrease glucagon secretion from pancreatic alpha cells, thereby lowering blood sugar levels. Metformin belongs to the biguanide class of medications. It works by decreasing glucose production by the liver, decreasing intestinal glucose absorption, and improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.

Therapeutic :

Anti Diabetic
