Itraconazole 200mg capsule is used to treat fungal infections, This medicine works by killing the fungus or yeast and preventing its growth.
This medicine is available only with your doctors prescription.
For the best effect, take this antifungal at evenly spaced times. To help you remember, take this medication at the same time(s) every day. Mark your calendar with a reminder if you are taking this medication in cycles.
Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may result in a return of the infection.
Indication : Itraconazole 200mg capsule is an antifungal medication that is used in adults to treat infections caused by fungus. This includes infections in any part of the body
Administration : Keep using this medicine for the full treatment time, even if you feel better after the first few doses. Your infection may not clear up if you stop using the medicine too soon.
Itraconazole capsules and tablets should be taken with a full meal.
The dose of this medicine will be different for different patients. Follow your doctors orders or the directions on the label.
Storage : Store the medicine at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light.
Mechanism of Action : Itraconazole inhibits the cytochrome P450-dependent, 14C-demethylation of ergosterol, which is a vital component of fungal cell membranes

Side Effects : Decreased urine output; dry mouth; fever; increased thirst; irregular heartbeat; loss of appetite; mood changes; muscle pain or cramps; nausea; numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips; seizures; trouble breathing; unusual tiredness or weakness; vomiting
Safety Advice / Warnings : Lactation?
There are no adequate studies in women for determining infant risk when using this medication during breastfeeding. Weigh the potential benefits against the potential risks before taking this medication while breastfeeding.
If you are using antacids or other stomach medicine (eg, H2 blocker, proton pump inhibitor), take them at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after using itraconazole.
This medicine may make you feel dizzy or have blurred or double vision. Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you.
Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before you start using this medicine for a fingernail or toenail infection.
