BETAHISTINE HYDROCHLORIDE 16 MG
Introduction : Betahistine dihydrochloride is
a type of medicine called a histamine analogue. It is
used as a treatment for M?ni?re?s syndrome, a condition
caused by the pressure of excess fluid in the inner ear.
Betahistine dihydrochloride is work by
improving blood flow in the inner ear, which reduces the
build up of pressure. It is this pressure in the ear which is
thought to cause the vertigo (dizziness), tinnitus (ringing
in the ears) and hearing loss suffered by people with
M?ni?re?s disease
Indication : Betahistine Dihydrochloride 8mg is
used as a treatment for M?ni?re?s syndrome, a condition
caused by the pressure of excess fluid in the inner ear.
Administration : The tablets should be swallowed whole with a sufficient
quantity of liquid (e.g. one glass of water).
Take the tablet with or after a meal
Mechanism of Action : Betahistine dihydrochloride is an analog of histamine which can be administered orally, It was developed as one of several beta-2-pyridyl alkylamine compounds with actions qualitatively similar to histamine but easier to administer than histamine itself , histamine is ineffective by the oral route. Betahistine is structurally similar to histamine.
It works by improving the blood flow in the inner ear which reduces the pressure of excess fluid there. Excess fluid can send signals to the brain causing nausea, dizziness or spinning sensations (symptoms of M?ni?res disease). Betahistine Tablet additionally dampens down the nerve signals sent from the inner ear to the brain relieving the symptoms of M?ni?res disease.
Side Effects : ? feeling sick (nausea)
? headaches
? indigestion (dyspepsia)
You may also get stomach pain and bloating. Taking the medicine with food can help reduce stomach problems.
