OLMESARTAN MEDOXOMIL 40 MG + AMLODIPINE 5 MG

Introduction :

Olmesartan medoxomil 40mg + Amlodipine 5mg combination tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension in adults who require combination therapy to achieve blood pressure control. Olmesartan 40mg works by blocking a substance in the body that causes the blood vessels to tighten. As a result, olmesartan relaxes the blood vessels. This lowers blood pressure and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart. Amlodipine 5mg is a type of medicine known as a calcium channel blocker (CCB). It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and a type of chest pain called angina.

Indication :

The combination of Olmesartan medoxomil 40mg + Amlodipine 5mg combination tablets is used to lower blood pressure in individuals with hypertension (high blood pressure). It is particularly beneficial for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy or who require combination therapy to achieve target blood pressure levels. Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: In addition to lowering blood pressure, the combination of Olmesartan medoxomil and Amlodipine may also provide cardiovascular protective effects. By reducing blood pressure and improving vascular function, this medication may help lower the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks, strokes, and other complications associated with hypertension.

Administration :

This medicine may be taken with or without food. In addition to taking this medicine, treatment for your high blood pressure may include weight control and a change in the foods you eat, especially foods high in sodium (salt). Your doctor will tell you which of these are most important for you.

Storage :

Protect from moisture or light and store below 30 degrees Celsius (C))

Mechanism of Action :

Olmesartan medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten, thereby relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure.
