Xenobiotica 2016; 46(11):986-1000.

Mechanism of Action :

Sacubitril: It is a neprilysin inhibitor. Neprilysin is an enzyme responsible for breaking down natriuretic peptides, which play a role in regulating blood pressure and fluid balance. By inhibiting neprilysin, sacubitril increases the levels of natriuretic peptides, resulting in vasodilation and natriuresis, which helps reduce blood pressure and improve heart failure symptoms. Valsartan: It is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). Valsartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict, thereby reducing blood pressure and workload on the heart.

Therapeutic :

angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors (ARNIs).
