ACECLOFENAC 100 MG
Introduction : Aceclofenac 100mg is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, substances in the body that cause pain and inflammation. It is known for its analgesic (pain-relieving) and anti-inflammatory properties, making it effective in alleviating various types of pain, including musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, and dental pain.
Indication : Aceclofenac 100 mg Film-coated Tablets is indicated for the relief of pain and inflammation in adults.
Administration : The recommended dose is 200 mg daily, taken as two separate 100 mg doses, one tablet in the morning and one in the evening.
Aceclofenac 100 mg Tablets are supplied for oral administration and should be swallowed whole with a sufficient quantity of liquid.
To be taken preferably with or after food.
Storage : Store at controlled room temperature, 20 to 25 degrees C . in a well-closed container; protect from light
Mechanism of Action : Aceclofenac is a nonsteroidal phenylacetic acid derivative related to diclofenac. Like other nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), aceclofenac is a prostaglandin synthetase (cyclooxygenase) inhibitor, which decreases prostaglandin and leukotriene production, therefore inhibiting the inflammatory process.
Side Effects : Gastrointestinal issues (stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, diarrhoea).
Dizziness or drowsiness.
Skin reactions (rash, itching).
Liver or kidney effects with prolonged use.
Contraindications : Aceclofenac is contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy. Do not administer aceclofenac during the first or second trimester of pregnancy unless clearly necessary, administering as low a dose as possible for the shortest duration as possible. Avoid use of this drug during pregnancy and prescribe an alternative.
Safety Advice / Warnings : 1. "Avoid the consumption of alcohol while taking Aceclofenac Tablet as it will increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
2. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding disorders, kidney impairment, liver dysfunction, or cardiovascular disease should use aceclofenac with caution.
3. This tablet is not recommended for use during pregnancy especially in the third trimester (last 3 months).
4. This Tablet may cause sleepiness, blurred vision, or dizziness in some cases. Avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines if you experience such symptoms after taking this medicine."
