Introduction : Aceclofenac, is effective in relieving pain and inflammation associated with various conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and musculoskeletal disorders. The sustained-release formulation ensures a prolonged duration of action, providing sustained pain relief over time.
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that helps reduce gastric acid secretion , This reduces the risk of developing gastric ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding associated with aceclofenac use.
Indication : Aceclofenac 200 Mg SR (sustained release) + Rabeprazole 20 Mg is a combination medicine used for short-term relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling in conditions that affect joints and muscles. It can help relieve pain in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. But, this pain-relieving action may damage the inner lining of the stomach. Therefore, this medicine also has an active ingredient called Rabeprazole, which reduces the acid secretion in our stomach, thereby reducing the damage caused by the painkillers.
Administration : The usual dosage is typically one tablet taken orally once or twice daily, preferably with food,

Mechanism of Action : Aceclofenac works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), which is responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in inflammation, pain, and fever. By inhibiting COX, aceclofenac reduces the production of prostaglandins, leading to decreased inflammation and pain relief.
Rabeprazole: It is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion and reducing the production of acid in the stomach.

Safety Advice / Warnings : Avoid the consumption of alcohol while taking Aceclofenac 200 MG Tablet SR as it will increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
Patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding disorders, kidney impairment, liver dysfunction, or cardiovascular disease should use aceclofenac with caution.
200 MG Tablet SR is not recommended for use during pregnancy especially in the third trimester (last 3 months)
200 MG Tablet SR may cause sleepiness, blurred vision, or dizziness in some cases. Avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines if you experience such symptoms after taking this medicine.
Monitor liver function tests periodically in patients receiving long-term treatment with Aceclofenac-containing medications.
Avoid concurrent use of alcohol and other NSAIDs, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and other adverse effects.
