Valsartan 160 mg Tablet is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptors in blood vessels and other tissues. This prevents vasoconstriction and reduces the secretion of aldosterone, leading to relaxation of blood vessels, decreased sodium and water retention, lower blood pressure, and reduced workload on the heart. Valsartan also helps protect the heart and kidneys from damage associated with hypertension and heart failure.
