FEXOFENADINE HYDROCHLORIDE 120 MG + MONTELUKAST 10 MG
Introduction : Fexofenadine Hydrochloride 120 Mg + Montelukast 10 Mg tablet is commonly prescribed for the management of allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and allergic asthma.
Fexofenadine is an antihistamine that helps relieve symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose,while Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that helps in the management of asthma symptoms by reducing inflammation and constriction of the airways.
Indication : This tablet is a combination medicine that provides relief from symptoms such as blocked or runny nose, sneezing and itchy or watery eyes. This will make it easier for you to go about your daily activities.
Administration : You may take this medicine with or without food.
Keep using this medicine for the full treatment time, even if you feel better after the first few doses.
Storage : Store the medication at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
Mechanism of Action : Fexofenadine Hydrochloride: Blocks the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms, by selectively antagonizing the H1 receptor.
Montelukast: Inhibits the action of leukotrienes, which are chemicals in the body that contribute to inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and mucus production in the airways, thereby reducing asthma and allergic symptoms.
Side Effects : Common side effects may include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and stomach upset.
Contraindications : If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this
medicine.
You must not take this medicine while you are breast-feeding
Safety Advice / Warnings : You should always take this medicine with water. Do not take it with juice such as grapefruit, orange, or apple juice
You should NOT take antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium hydroxide within 15 minutes of taking this medicine.
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking fexofenadine, as it may increase the risk of side effects such as drowsiness or dizziness.
