TAMSULOSIN 0.4 MG (MR) + DUTASTERIDE 0.5 MG
Introduction : The combination of Tamsulosin 0.4 mg + Dutasteride 0.5mg capsules is commonly indicated for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as prostate enlargement, in adult men. BPH can lead to urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty starting urination, weak urine stream, and incomplete bladder emptying.
Indication : Tamsulosin 0.4mg is used to treat men who have symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland, which is also known as benign enlargement of the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH). Benign enlargement of the prostate is a problem that can occur in men as they get older.
Dutasteride 0.5mg is used in men to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH). It works by reducing the size of the enlarged prostate
Administration : Administer 30 minutes after the same meal each day, or as directed by the doctor.
Do not crush, chew, or open capsules
Swallow the capsule whole. Do not crush, chew, or open it. The contents of the capsule may irritate your lips, mouth, or throat.
Storage : Store the medication at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
Mechanism of Action : Tamsulosin 0.4 mg (MR): Tamsulosin belongs to a class of medications called alpha-1 blockers. It works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. The "MR" designation may refer to modified-release formulation, indicating a prolonged release of the medication over time.
Dutasteride 0.5 mg: Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor. It works by reducing the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that contributes to the growth of the prostate gland. By inhibiting DHT, dutasteride helps shrink the prostate gland and improve urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Contraindications : Note: Women of childbearing potential should not use or handle dutasteride capsules. Dutasteride can cause birth defects in male fetuses.
In Liver disease?Use with caution. The effects may be increased because of slower removal of the medicine from the body.
Women and children should not use this medicine. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should not handle or touch the capsules.
Safety Advice / Warnings : "Avoid use of this drug during pregnancy and prescribe an alternative. Evidence has demonstrated fetal abnormalities or risks when used during pregnancy. Advise women of childbearing potential of fetal risk.
Evidence and/or expert consensus has demonstrated harmful infant effects when used during breastfeeding.
Because tamsulosin may cause some people to become dizzy or feel faint, make sure you know how you react to this medicine before you drive, use machines, or do anything else that could be dangerous if you are dizzy or not alert.
Men who have taken this medicine should not donate blood until 6 months have passed since the last dose. Dutasteride can remain in your blood for a long time and be passed on to a pregnant woman who receives a blood transfusion.
