Indication of Gliclazide 80 Mg Tablet
Gliclazide 80mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It belongs to a group of medicines called sulfonylureas and helps control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. This helps to prevent serious complications of diabetes like kidney damage and blindness.
How To Use of Gliclazide 80 Mg Tablet
Tablets are for oral use. Take your tablet(s) with a glass of water (and preferably at the same time each day). Swallow your tablets whole. Do not chew them. You must always eat a meal after taking your tablet(s).
Storage of Gliclazide 80 Mg Tablet
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. • Do not store above 250C. Store in the original package.
Side Effects of Gliclazide 80 Mg Tablet
Skin reactions such as rash, redness, itching, hives, angioedema, breathing difficulty, stomach upset.
Contraindications of Gliclazide 80 Mg Tablet
Hypersensitivity to Gliclazide, other sulfonylureas, sulfonamides, or any tablet component. Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. Diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic pre-coma, or coma. Severe renal impairment. Severe hepatic impairment.
Safety Advice of Gliclazide 80 Mg Tablet
Do not take these Tablets if you: • are allergic to Gliclazide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6), to other medicines of the same group (sulfonylureas), to other related medicines (hypoglycaemic sulphonamides) • have insulin-dependent diabetes (type 1) • suffer from severe kidney or liver disease • have ketone bodies and sugar in your urine (this may mean you have keto-acidosis) • suffer from a diabetic pre-coma and coma • are taking miconazole (a treatment for fungal infections) (see section ‘Other medicines and Zicron ® Tablets’) • are breast-feeding (see Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility) Tablets are not recommended for use during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine. You must not take this medicine while you are breast-feeding Drinking alcohol is not recommended as it can alter the control of your diabetes in an unpredictable manner.
