Nifedipine SR 30mg tablet is used to prevent certain types of chest pain (angina). It may allow you to exercise more and decrease the frequency of angina attacks. Nifedipine belongs to a class of medications known as calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. This medication must be taken regularly to be effective. It should not be used to treat attacks of chest pain when they occur.
How To Use of Nifedipine Er 30 Mg Tablet
Swallow the extended release tablet whole. Do not break, crush, or chew it. It is best to take this tablet on an empty stomach. If you are taking the extended-release tablets, part of the tablet may pass into your stool after your body has absorbed the medicine. This is normal and nothing to worry about. Do not crush, chew, or divide extended-release tablet.

Side Effects of Nifedipine Er 30 Mg Tablet
This drug may cause heartburn, nausea, or headache, weakness, swelling ankles/feet, constipation.
Contraindications of Nifedipine Er 30 Mg Tablet
Evidence has demonstrated fetal abnormalities or risks when used during pregnancy. Advise women of childbearing potential of fetal risk. Evidence and/or expert consensus has demonstrated harmful infant effects when used during breastfeeding.
Safety Advice of Nifedipine Er 30 Mg Tablet
Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting may occur, especially when you get up suddenly from a lying or sitting position. These symptoms are more likely to occur when you begin taking this medicine, or when the dose is increased. Do not stop taking this medicine without first checking with your doctor. Your doctor may want you to gradually reduce the amount you are using before stopping completely. Grapefruits and grapefruit juice may increase the effects of nifedipine by increasing the amount of this medicine in your body. You should not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you taking this medicine. This medicine may cause fluid retention (edema) in some patients. Tell your doctor right away if you have bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet.
