SUCRALFATE 1 GM + OXETACAINE 20 MG

This combination medication is commonly used for the treatment and symptomatic relief of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders and to protect the stomach lining. It may be prescribed for: Gastric and duodenal ulcers Gastritis Acid reflux disease (GERD) Heartburn and acid-related stomach pain Esophagitis Hyperacidity and dyspepsia This medicine should be used under medical supervision.

Take as directed by the physician. Shake the bottle well before use. Usually taken on an empty stomach, 1 hour before meals and at bedtime, or as prescribed. Avoid taking other medications within 2 hours of this medicine unless advised.

Store below 25–30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.

Do not use if: Known hypersensitivity to sucralfate or oxetacaine

This drug may cause constipation, bezoar formation, and aluminum toxicity. Advise patient to take drug on empty stomach. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if prescribed. Avoid alcohol and irritant foods that may worsen gastric symptoms. Patient should not take antacids 30 min before or after taking this drug. Tell patient to avoid taking cimetidine, ciprofloxacin, digoxin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, and ranitidine 2 h before or after taking sucralfate.

Sucralfate polymerizes in acidic pH to form a viscous, negatively charged gel that binds to positively charged proteins at ulcer sites, creating a protective barrier and enhancing mucosal defense via prostaglandin and bicarbonate stimulation. Oxetacaine is a potent local anesthetic that stabilizes neuronal membranes by blocking sodium ion influx, providing prolonged analgesia in acidic gastric environments.
