Introduction :

The combination of Rabeprazole 20 Mg & Levosulpiride 75 Mg is indicated for the treatment of various gastrointestinal disorders, particularly those associated with gastric acid hypersecretion and gastric motility disturbances.

Indication :

Rabeprazole 20 Mg & Levosulpiride 75 Mg is a medicine used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) by relieving the symptoms of acidity such as heartburn, stomach pain, or irritation. It also neutralizes the acid and promotes easy passage of gas to reduce stomach discomfort.

Administration :

It is typically taken orally, usually before meals or as directed by a healthcare professional. "Should be taken at least 30 minutes before meals. (Delayed-release tablets / Sustained release tablets) Swallow tablets whole, do not split, crush, or chew"

Storage :

Store the medication at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.

Mechanism of Action :

Rabeprazole: It is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion and reducing the production of acid in the stomach. Levosulpiride 75 mg SR: Levosulpiride is a selective dopamine D2 receptor antagonist with prokinetic properties. It acts on the upper gastrointestinal tract to enhance gastric motility and accelerate gastric emptying.

Contraindications :

Rabeprazole + Levosulpiride should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components or in patients with severe hepatic impairment.

Safety Advice / Warnings :

Patients should be monitored for signs of extrapyramidal symptoms or other neurological effects, especially when using levosulpiride for an extended duration. This medication combination should be used with caution in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias, as levosulpiride may prolong the QT interval. Taking this medicine for a long time may make it harder for your body to absorb vitamin B12. Tell your doctor if you have concerns about vitamin B12 deficiency. This medicine may cause hypomagnesemia (low magnesium in the blood). Your doctor may check your blood levels if you are taking this medicine for more than 1 year Patients with a history of psychiatric disorders should be monitored closely for changes in mood or behavior while taking levosulpiride. Levosulpiride+ Rabeprazole Capsule SR is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. Levosulpiride+Rabeprazole capsule SR may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
