ROSUVASTATIN 10 MG + FENOFIBRATE 160 MG
Introduction : ROSUVASTATIN 10 MG + FINOFIBRATE 160 MG tablet is used together with a proper diet to reduce and treat high cholesterol and triglyceride (fat-like substances) levels in the blood. This may help prevent the development of pancreatitis (inflammation or swelling of the pancreas) caused by high levels of (fat-like substances) in the blood.
This medicine is available only with your doctors prescription.
Indication : The combination of Rosuvastatin 10 mg and Fenofibrate 160 mg is often prescribed for the management of dyslipidemia, a condition characterized by abnormal levels of lipids (cholesterol and triglycerides) in the blood.
This combination is often prescribed when monotherapy with a statin or fibrates alone is insufficient to manage both elevated LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.
Administration : ROSUVASTATIN 10 MG + FINOFIBRATE 160 MG tablet should be taken with a meal.
Do not open, crush, break, chew, or dissolve them.
Storage : Store the medicine at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Mechanism of Action : Fenofibrtae Activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-?), leading to increased lipolysis and elimination of triglyceride-rich particles from plasma. It also has modest effects on increasing HDL cholesterol.
Inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, reducing cholesterol synthesis in the liver and lowering levels of LDL cholesterol ("bad" cholesterol) and triglycerides, while increasing levels of HDL cholesterol ("good" cholesterol).
Therapeutic : Antihyperlipidemic
Side Effects : Common side effects may include muscle pain (myalgia), elevated liver enzymes, and gastrointestinal symptoms.
Monitoring for myopathy (muscle-related side effects) and liver function is essential.
Dizziness & lOSS OF APETITE
Contraindications : Contraindicated in patients with active liver disease, severe renal impairment, and hypersensitivity to either Rosuvastatin or Fenofibrate.
Safety Advice / Warnings : Avoid use of this drug during pregnancy and prescribe an alternative. Evidence has demonstrated fetal abnormalities or risks when used during pregnancy.
Evidence and/or expert consensus has demonstrated harmful infant effects when used during breastfeeding.
Do not drink large amounts of alcohol while using rosuvastatin. This could cause side effects on the liver.
Call your doctor right away if you have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially if you also have unusual tiredness or a fever.
Tablet: Advise patient not to take 2 doses within 12 hours of each other
