How To Use of Midodrine Hydrochloride 2.5 Mg Tablet
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your physician. Swallow the tablet whole with water. It may be taken with or without food. The last daily dose should generally be taken at least 4 hours before bedtime to reduce the risk of supine hypertension. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule and monitor blood pressure regularly. Do not stop the medicine without consulting your doctor.

Midodrine is a prodrug that is rapidly converted to its active metabolite, desglymidodrine, a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist. Activation of alpha-1 receptors on arterioles and veins causes peripheral vasoconstriction, increasing vascular resistance and raising blood pressure, thereby improving symptoms of orthostatic hypotension.
