Cetirizine 10 mg Tablet contains Cetirizine Hydrochloride 10 mg, a non-sedating (or minimally sedating) antihistamine that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance released during allergic reactions. It effectively relieves symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, chronic urticaria (hives), and other allergic skin conditions. Cetirizine usually starts working within one hour of administration and provides relief for up to 24 hours. It is generally well tolerated, although some individuals may experience mild drowsiness.

Cetirizine 10mg tablet is used to treat cold or allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, or runny nose. Cetirizine 10mg tablet is also used to treat an allergic reaction, itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria (hives) and minimizes or eliminates the symptoms of perennial allergic rhinitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, allergic asthma, physical urticaria, and atopic dermatitis.

You may take cetirizine with or without food. The chewable tablet must be chewed before you swallow it.

Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light.

Oral side effects may include fatigue, dry mouth, pharyngitis, dizziness headache, and abdominal pain.

You are allergic to Cetirizine, Hydroxyzine, or other piperazine derivatives. You have severe kidney impairment unless advised by your doctor. You have experienced hypersensitivity reactions to this medicine previously.

This medicine may cause some people to become drowsy, sleepy, or less alert than they are normally. Make sure you know how you react to this medicine before you drive, use machines, or do anything else that could be dangerous if you are not alert. Instruct patient to avoid using contact lenses if eyes are red. Drug should not be used to treat contact lens-related irritation Patient to avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants during therapy.
