Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. Patients inadequately controlled with diet, exercise, or single-agent antidiabetic therapy. May be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medications as advised by a healthcare professional.
How To Use of Glimepiride 2 Mg + Metformin Hydrochloride 500 Mg Pr Tablet
Take exactly as prescribed by your physician. Usually taken once daily with the main meal or as directed. Swallow the prolonged-release tablet whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet. Take with food to reduce stomach upset and minimize the risk of hypoglycemia. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not take a double dose.

Conditions associated with tissue hypoxia (e.g., severe heart failure or respiratory failure). Excessive alcohol consumption.

Monitor blood glucose and HbA1c regularly during treatment. Always take the medicine with meals. Avoid excessive alcohol intake as it increases the risk of hypoglycemia and lactic acidosis. Inform your doctor if you have kidney, liver, or heart disease.

Mechanism of Glimepiride 2 Mg + Metformin Hydrochloride 500 Mg Pr Tablet
Glimepiride: Stimulates insulin secretion by binding to sulfonylurea receptors (SUR1) on pancreatic beta cells, causing closure of ATP-sensitive potassium channels, membrane depolarization, calcium influx, and insulin release. Metformin Hydrochloride PR: Reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity without stimulating insulin secretion. The prolonged-release formulation provides sustained drug release for prolonged glycemic control.
