How To Use of Methotrexate 10 Mg Tablet
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your physician. For rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, Methotrexate is usually taken once weekly, not daily. Swallow the tablet whole with water. It may be taken with or without food. Take the medicine on the same day every week. Do not change the dose without consulting your healthcare provider. Folic acid supplementation may be prescribed to reduce side effects.

Methotrexate is a folate antagonist that inhibits the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR), reducing the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins required for rapidly dividing cells. At low doses, it also increases extracellular adenosine levels, producing anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects, making it effective in autoimmune diseases while also inhibiting abnormal cell proliferation in cancer.
