BISOPROLOL FUMARATE 5 MG
Introduction : Bisoprolol 5mg tablet is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. High blood pressure may also increase the risk of heart attacks. These problems may be less likely to occur if blood pressure is controlled .
This medicine is available only with your doctors prescription .
Indication : Bisoprolol 5mg tablet is indicated for following conditions:
Hypertension
High Blood pressure
Bisoprolol 5mg tablet is a beta-blocker. It works by affecting the response to nerve impulses in certain parts of the body, like the heart. As a result, the heart beats slower and decreases the blood pressure. When the blood pressure is lowered, the amount of blood and oxygen is increased to the heart .
Administration : You may take this medicine with or without food.
Storage : "Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep from freezing.
Keep out of the reach of children.

Mechanism of Action : Bisoprolol fumarate, a cardioselective inhibitor of beta(1)-adrenoceptor, has no significant intrinsic sympathomimetic activity or membrane stabilizing activity in its therapeutic dosage. It also exhibits beta(2)-adrenoceptor inhibition and a negative chronotropic effect

Fatigue
Safety Advice / Warnings : Patient should avoid activities requiring mental alertness or coordination until drug effects are realized.
This drug may cause bradyarrhythmia, cold extremities, hypotension, dyspepsia, dizziness, headache, dyssomnia, upper respiratory infection, or fatigue.
Drug may mask symptoms of hypoglycemia. Advise diabetic patients to carefully monitor blood sugar levels.
Advise patient against sudden discontinuation of drug.
Instruct patient to take a missed dose as soon as possible, but if next dose is in less than 8 h, skip the missed dose.
