DICLOFENAC 50 MG + PARACETAMOL 325 MG + CHLOROXAZONE 250 MG

Introduction :

This combination medication typically contains three active ingredients: diclofenac 50mg, paracetamol 325mg (acetaminophen), and chlorzoxazone 250mg. It is often used to provide relief from pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal conditions. Diclofenac 50mg is also used to treat acute migraine attacks, with or without aura, in adults. It will not prevent or lessen the number of migraine attacks. The combination is used when a dual mechanism of pain relief and anti-inflammatory action is required, such as in conditions involving musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. Chlorzoxazone 250mg is a muscle relaxant that acts directly on the central nervous system to relieve muscle spasms and stiffness. It works by inhibiting the reflexes in the spinal cord, reducing muscle contractions and promoting muscle relaxation. This helps in easing the discomfort associated with muscle spasms, strains, sprains, and other muscular conditions.

Mechanism of Action :

Diclofenac is an NSAID with potent antiinflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties [8]. Like other NSAIDs, although the mechanism is not completely understood, it may involve inhibition of prostaglandin synthetase and COX-1 and COX-2 pathways The mechanism of action of acetaminophen in reducing pain is unknown but may be due to an inhibition of central prostaglandin synthesis (specifically cyclooxygenase (COX)-2) and an elevation of the pain threshold. Acetaminophen reduces fever by inhibiting the formulation and release of prostaglandins in the CNS and by inhibition endogenous pyrogens at the hypothalamic thermoregulator center
