Introduction :

This combination medication is commonly prescribed for the management of pain and inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal conditions, including: Musculoskeletal Disorders: Etoricoxib and Thiocolchicoside combination is used to alleviate pain and inflammation caused by musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute musculoskeletal conditions (e.g., muscle spasms, strains, sprains).

Indication :

is a combination of two medicines used in the treatment of pain due to muscle spasms. It improves the movement of muscles and provides relief from pain and discomfort associated with muscle spasms. Tablet is a combination medicine that contains a painkiller as well as a muscle relaxant. It is used to relieve pain, inflammation, and swelling in conditions that affect muscles. Also, it effectively relieves muscle stiffness or spasm, thereby improving muscle movement. It works by blocking chemical messengers in the brain that tell us we have pain.

Administration :

Administer orally with a full glass of water, as directed by the healthcare provider. It is preferable to take the medication with meals to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal side effects.. Do not crush or chew the tablet; swallow it whole.

Storage :

Store the medicine at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep out of the reach of children.

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication, as it may increase the risk of liver toxicity Monitor liver function tests periodically in patients receiving long-term treatment with paracetamol-containing medications.

Mechanism of Action :

Etoricoxib: It is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor that works by blocking the action of the enzyme COX-2, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins, which are mediators of pain and inflammation. Thiocolchicoside: It is a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory properties. Thiocolchicoside exerts its pharmacological effects by acting on gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors in the central nervous system, leading to skeletal muscle relaxation and reduction of muscle spasm.
