Mechanism of Carbimazole 10 Mg Tablet
Carbimazole is converted in the body to methimazole, which inhibits the enzyme thyroid peroxidase. This prevents the formation of thyroid hormones by blocking iodine incorporation and hormone synthesis in the thyroid gland. As a result, production of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) decreases, helping control symptoms of hyperthyroidism.
