Mechanism of Sodium Carboxy Methylcellulose 0.5 % W/v + Stabilized Oxychloro 0.00 5 % W/v Soluation
Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose 0.5% w/v: Acts as a lubricating polymer that mimics natural tears, forming a protective film over the cornea and conjunctiva. It increases tear film stability, retains moisture, and reduces friction during blinking. Stabilized Oxychloro Complex 0.005% w/v: Functions as a preservative to maintain sterility of the eye drops. After instillation, it breaks down into sodium chloride, oxygen, and water when exposed to light and tear components, reducing the risk of preservative-related ocular toxicity.
