Mechanism of Tacrolimus 1 Mg Capsule
Tacrolimus is a calcineurin inhibitor. It binds to the intracellular protein FKBP-12 (FK506-binding protein) to form a complex that inhibits calcineurin. This prevents the activation of T-lymphocytes and suppresses the production of cytokines, particularly interleukin-2 (IL-2), thereby reducing the immune response and preventing rejection of transplanted organs.
