Introduction : Sitagliptin 50mg + Metformin 1000mg combination tablets are indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate glycemic control.
Sitagliptin 50mg reduces blood sugar levels by increasing the amount of insulin made and released from pancreas, and also decreases the amount sugar made by liver.
Metformin 1000mg works by decreasing the production of glucose in the liver, reducing intestinal glucose absorption, and increasing glucose uptake and utilization in peripheral tissues.
Indication : Sitagliptin 50mg + Metformin 1000mg combination tablets is prescribed for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults.
