Mechanism of Nicorandil 10 Mg
Nicorandil works through two mechanisms: It acts as a potassium channel opener, causing relaxation of vascular smooth muscle and dilation of both coronary and peripheral arteries, thereby increasing blood flow to the heart muscle. It also has nitrate-like effects, releasing nitric oxide (NO) in the blood vessels, which further promotes vasodilation and reduces cardiac workload.
