PARACETAMOL 500 MG

Below are the product's comprehensive details, including its indications, administration, storage, side effects, safety advice, references, mechanism of action, and therapeutic uses.

Paracetamol 500mg tablet is mainly indicated for Pain Relief: Paracetamol is widely used to alleviate mild to moderate pain associated with various conditions, including headaches, muscle aches, backaches, menstrual cramps, toothaches, and minor injuries. It provides effective pain relief by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in the brain, which are involved in the perception of pain. Fever Reduction: Paracetamol is also used to reduce fever in individuals of all ages. It is particularly useful in lowering fever associated with common colds, flu, and other infections. By reducing fever, paracetamol helps alleviate discomfort and may also improve overall well-being.

You may take this medicine with or without food.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Common side effects of paracetamol are rare when taken at recommended doses. However, overdose or prolonged use may lead to liver damage or failure. Other side effects may include nausea, vomiting, allergic reactions, and skin rash.

consult with doctor first when used during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Acetaminophen may cause false results with some blood glucose tests. If you are diabetic and notice a change in your test results, or if you have any questions, check with your doctor. If you will be taking more than an occasional 1 or 2 doses of acetaminophen, do not drink alcoholic beverages. To do so may increase the chance of liver damage, especially if you drink large amounts of alcohol on a regular basis, if you take more acetaminophen than is recommended on the label, or if you take it regularly for a long time. If your symptoms or fever do not improve within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor.

Paracetamol works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in the brain, which are involved in the perception of pain and regulation of body temperature. It is believed to exert its analgesic (pain-relieving) and antipyretic (fever-reducing) effects primarily by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), particularly COX-3, in the central nervous system.

Analgesic, Anti Pyretic
