Mechanism of Cilnidipine 5 Mg Tablet
Cilnidipine is a dual L-type and N-type calcium channel blocker. It inhibits calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle cells, causing relaxation and dilation of blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure. Blockade of N-type calcium channels suppresses sympathetic nerve activity, reducing norepinephrine release, minimizing reflex tachycardia, and providing additional cardiovascular and renal protection.
